Congregation Network Pastor (Victoria)

Grace Communion International Australia

Melbourne-based | Statewide travel | Hybrid

About the Role

Grace Communion International Australia is seeking a Congregation Network Pastor to support, strengthen, and grow multiple congregations across Victoria.

This is a relational, team-based pastoral leadership role focused not on leading a single church, but on developing leaders, encouraging congregations, and fostering healthy, disciple-making communities.

You will work alongside pastors and ministry leaders to build ministry through others— helping churches grow in faith, participation, and mission.

Key Responsibilities

Engage — Build Relationships

  • Develop strong, trust-based relationships across congregations
  • Maintain regular connection with pastors and ministry leaders
  • Support congregational life through presence and communication

Equip — Develop Leaders

  • Identify and mentor emerging leaders
  • Provide coaching, training, and ministry support
  • Strengthen leadership pathways using a discover, develop, deploy approach

Empower — Release Ministry

  • Encourage local ownership of ministry
  • Support leaders stepping into responsibility
  • Build sustainable ministry systems (not personality-based ministry)

Encourage — Provide Pastoral Care

  • Offer pastoral support to leaders and congregations
  • Walk alongside communities through growth and change
  • Foster healthy, grace-filled church environments

About You

You are a Christ-centred, relational leader passionate about healthy church and developing people.

Essential

  • Experience in pastoral ministry and leadership development
  • Commitment to team-based leadership and collaboration
  • Ability to equip and multiply leaders
  • Capacity to work across multiple ministry contexts
  • Strong communication and relational skills
  • Driver’s licence and willingness to travel
  • Australian work rights

Highly Valued

  • Experience supporting a network of congregations
  • Background in mentoring or coaching
  • Ability to navigate complex and diverse ministry contexts
  • Alignment with a grace-based, Christ-centred ministry approach
